Arrest Following Thefts From Cars In Botley

A man has been arrested after a number of cars were broken into overnight in Botley.

Police say they received a number of reports from concerned members of the public that vehicles were being broken into in the early hours of this morning along Kingsman Drive.

Officers were deployed and an extensive area search was conducted to locate possible offenders or any possessions which may have been stolen as a result. They located an individual in the vicinity, who local residents allege to be involved in the incident.

A 52-year-old man from Yeovil was arrested on suspicion of theft from a motor vehicle and vehicle interference. He remains in custody at this time.

A police spokesperson said: “Information that we received from the community is vital and informs where we put our resources and take action against any illegal activity. If a crime is in progress, please dial 999 immediately.”
