At Last Some Good News! Roebuck Pub To Re-open

By Tom Hussey in Business News on August 29, 2020

The Roebuck Inn is set to re-open its doors under new management on 1st September.

The pub, which is located on the A32 between Wickham and Mislingford, closed its doors back in February due to lack of business.

In a statement on the pub’s Facebook page, landlady Sara Pollard-Dambach spoke of her excitement ahead of opening the Roebuck alongside her husband and in-laws.

“Myself and my husband Oliver will be the new Managers of The Roebuck Inn,” she said.

“We are thrilled to be taking on this Pub for its wonderful owners and run it within our very own family along side my inlaws Chris and Rosie and my kids Chloe, and Olivia.

“Please come and support us as we open on the 1st of September at 10am.”

Sara will be running the pub with her husband Oliver and in-laws Chris and Rosie.

“We have never run a pub before. We were literally contacted two weeks ago by our current landlord and landlady,” said Sara. “They asked us if we would be interested in running a lovely little pub… we couldn’t help but fall in love with it.”

“I come from a social media background and Oliver from a 10-year chef and catering background. Chris and Rosie ran a B&B and a cafe too so together we have the skills to return this place to its former glory.

“We plan to host weddings in our two bridal suites with acoustic music… and will be for small weddings of 60 or less.”
