Bishop’s Waltham Woman Accused Of Multiple Thefts

Police investigating a series of thefts have charged a Bishop’s Waltham woman

Eileen Hughes, 49, of Blanchard Road, Bishop’s Waltham, has been charged with four counts of theft.

The charges come after police received reports of thefts that took place in Knowle, Fareham, and Lee-on-the-Solent between December 8th 2020 and January 24th 2021.

The reports included:

• Theft of a miniature Christmas tree from Knowle Avenue, Knowle, which took place at 9.10pm on 8 December 2020.
• Theft of a pair of shoes from a driveway on Gosport Road, Lee-on-the-Solent at around 4pm on 13 December 2020.
• Theft of three car batteries from a garden on Portchester Road, Fareham at around 3.40pm on 12 January 2021.
• Theft of copper and lead from a garden on Cottes Way, Fareham, reported to police at 6.49pm on 24 January 2021.

She is due to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on May 17th.
