Cars Overturns On Ice In Meonstoke
A driver had a lucky escape earlier today after their car overturned in Meonstoke.
The vehicle skidded on black ice in Rectory Lane. It is understood that the driver was uninjured.
Police attended and have now closed the road to all but essential journeys.
Meonstoke has been affected by large amounts of ice as the river Meon has overflowed onto roads in several places and the resultant surface water has frozen.
One resident said: “Many of the roads in the village have been impacted by ice. It would be helpful if the roads could be gritted but there’s no sign of that happening. Perhaps they’ll get round to us in the summer.”
