Community Groups And Organisations To Take Part In Older People’s Fair

By Times Reporter in News on February 2, 2023

More than 19 organisations and businesses will take part in an Older People’s Fair tomorrow arranged by Meon Valley MP Flick Drummond.

Among them are care consultants and organisations, teams supporting people to live well and groups to prevent social isolation as well as advice and support organisations.

The event is taking place at the Long Room in Wickham Community Centre in Mill Lane on February 3rd. Doors open at 10am and it ends at 1pm.

The aim of the event is to give older people, their families, and friends a chance to speak with a wide range of support, voluntary and social activity groups available within Meon Valley.

“I am really pleased this event now has so many coming to set up their stalls so older people across the Meon Valley can get information, advice or just have a chat,” said Flick.

“It is important older people can access experts to make informed choices about their future and I hope people will put this date in their diary and pop in.

“I am looking forward to the event, meeting with the organisations and groups and most importantly catching up with constituents and their families who have come along.”

The organisations and business taking part include: SJM Wills, Lapis Care, U3A, Andover Mind, Home Instead, Connect to Support, Age UK, RNIB, Dementia Friends, Parkinsons support Fareham, Citizens Advice, Clarity Consulting, Shedfield Lodge, Wickham Community Care, History Society, Age concern Hampshire, Open Sight, Hampshire Adult Services Shared Lives and Meon Valley Bowls Club.
