Eyesore Former Petrol Station To Remain Despite New Sainsbury’s
A former petrol station in Bishop’s Waltham which has been branded an eyesore will not be part of the new Sainsbury’s supermarket.
It had been hoped that the former Esso branch in Winchester Road would be part of Sainsbury’s refurbishment of the site, which was announced last month.
But the Meon Valley Times can reveal that the site, which has been derelict and overgrown with weeds, is not part of the development as Sainsbury’s does not own that part of the site.
One local said: “It’s a big disappointment as it’s a real eyesore, particularly as it’s next to Bishop’s Waltham North Pond. You’d have thought it would have been an appropriate small extension to the existing supermarket building.”

Who owns it? Can it be asked what are their future plans, for it?
Just wondering as I come from Bishops Waltham and am interested who is responsible for it! If they have lost interest can they look forward to what the community needs and explore buyers?
Just wondering!!
I seem to remember the council objecting to change of use citing a public aminity. Seems bit of a waste of a site as more and more people go electric.
I heard it was going to be a car wash
