Firefighters Praised For Saving Bakery Following Vehicle Fire
Firefighters have been praised for the quick response to a van fire which stopped it from spreading to a bakery just inches away.
The Stainers Bakery van caught fire last night but the blaze was put out by firefighters from Bishop’s Waltham and Botley, before any significant damage was done to the building in Park Road.
In a Facebook post today, the bakers, in High Street, Bishop’s Waltham, said: “All at Stainers Bakery would like to thank the amazing quick reactions of Bishops Waltham and Botley fire crews for putting out the van fires and stopping it spreading into the bakery so we are able to open our business as usual.
“Thank you to the police who also attended and finally to the wonderful supportive friends and neighbours who rallied round moving other vehicles, offering tea, blankets and shelter. Everyone was amazing and we are incredibly grateful to you all.”
