Former Winchester City Councillor From Bishop’s Waltham Charged With Attempted Murder
A former Winchester City Councillor and mayor of the city has been charged with attempted murder.
David McLean, 71, of Morley Drive, Bishop’s Waltham has been charged after Margaret McLean, of Chase Grove, Waltham Chase, died on Friday October 7th last year.
Until May this year, Mr McLean was a councillor representing Bishop’s Waltham on Winchester City Council. He was mayor from 2017 to 2018. During his time as a councillor he served on the Planning Committee, the Licensing and Regulation Committee, the Licensing Sub-Committee and the North Whiteley Development Forum
Mr McLean has been on police bail since being arrested in October. He is due to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court on Wednesday July 26th.
