I’m Backing Rishi Sunak Says Meon Valley MP Flick Drummond

Meon Valley MP Flick Drummond has announced that she is supporting former Chancellor Rishi Sunak in the Conservative Party leadership election.

“I am supporting Rishi Sunak again to be our next Conservative leader and Prime Minister,” she said earlier today.

“We need someone with experience, economic competence and attention to detail. Rishi supported people and businesses through the pandemic and understands what is needed to put the economy back on track.

“The next cabinet needs to be one with the brightest and experienced MPs and we all need to come together and work hard to help the most vulnerable in our society and build our economy for the future.”

Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson is also expected to run and Portsmouth North MP Penny Mordaunt has already announced her candidacy.
