Man arrested on suspicion of drug driving after motorcyclist injured in collision in Bishop’s Waltham

A driver was arrested on suspicion of drug-driving after a collision in Bishop’s Waltham earlier today in which a motorcyclist suffered serious injuries.

Police were called at 8.02am this morning to reports of a collision involving a motorbike and a van on Winchester Road, Bishops Waltham.

The rider of the motorbike, a 39-year-old man from Southampton has suffered serious injuries, but not life-threatening injuries, and has been taken to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: “A 51-year-old man from Bishops Waltham has been arrested on suspicion of driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit. He has been released under investigation.
