Man Detained By Police After Child “Threatened” In Bishop’s Waltham

A man was detained by police at yesterday following reports of a child being threatened at Priory Park in Bishop’s Waltham.

Reports on social media suggested a witness had seen a knife but police say no weapon was found at the scene.

A police spokesperson said: “We were called just after 2.30pm yesterday to a report of a child being threatened in Priory Park.

“Officers attended and a man in his 40s was detained under the mental health act.

“No knife was seen or located at the scene.”
