Meon Valley Community Centre To Become Coronavirus Testing Hub

By Times Reporter in News on July 14, 2020

A Meon Valley community centre is to become a coronavirus testing hub.

From July 26th, Wickham Community Centre will be a mobile testing centre for local people two days a week and will be run by military personnel.

“People will drive up and be tested without getting out of their vehicles,” a post on the centre’s Facebook page says. “As they are attending the site to be tested for Covid-19, they will have been instructed to self-isolate until their test results come through and so won’t be visiting the village or any other locations.

“The skate park, community garden, school, homes and surgery will all be unaffected by this essential service.

“We hope you agree that this is the sort of service the community centre should be involved in.”

  • I’m a very vulnerable person with this virus and you’re decision to bring people that have the possibility of an infection with COVID-19 to my door worries me greatly. I live within a stones throw of the community centre and this scares the hell out of me. I wish you’d asked how the locals felt about this before making decisions. I’m now probably not even going to go into my garden, wonderful thanks guys you’re brilliant.
