Meon Valley MP Flick Drummond has issued a press release about how she has “sworn allegiance to His Majesty King Charles III in the House of Commons.”
She announced that she had delivered the oath in Parliament on Wednesday holding the Bible following the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth.
“I actually became quite emotional as I read the words because I have sworn allegiance to Her Majesty on several occasions as an MP, a public figure and in my time in the Territorial Army,” she said.
“It was a tangible moment for me of the enormous change that has taken place in our country. I wish His Majesty the finest of reigns and my full support.”
The oath says: ‘I swear by Almighty God that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to His Majesty King Charles III, his heirs and successors, according to law. So help me God.’
