Winchester Road plan

New plans have been submitted for the former Esso petrol station site in Bishop’s Waltham.

In January Curdridge-based Maxwell Homes Winchester Ltd applied for planning permission to build six three-storey houses on the site.

Those plans for the site, which is located between North Pond and Sainsbury’s and was recently used as a car wash, faced criticism from the Bishop’s Waltham Society, Bishop’s Waltham Parish Council and some local people.

Now the company has resubmitted a previously withdrawn application which it hopes “addresses all the issues raised under the previous application.”

These include reducing the height of the buildings which are now two storeys with rooms in the roof rather than three and changes in the design of the end unit which faces Winchester Road.
