Police appeal after child hit by car in Swanmore

Police are appealing for witnesses after a child was hit by a car in Swanmore last Monday.

The collision, which happened on Church Road at approximately 1pm last Monday – May 27th – involved a silver vehicle and a pedestrian.

The driver briefly stopped to check on the welfare of the pedestrian but then drove off without exchanging details.

Thankfully, the pedestrian – a young child – suffered only minor injuries during the incident.

Enquiries have been ongoing to try and identify the vehicle and driver involved, but officers are now turning to the public for assistance.

A police spokesperson: “Were you in the area at the time of the incident? Did you see what happened or do you know the driver involved? Were you the driver involved?

“If you have any information which could assist in our investigation, including any dash cam or other footage, please call 101 and quote incident number 44240222122.”
