Restaurant Steps In To Provide Free School Lunches

By Times Reporter in News on October 23, 2020

A Bishop’s Waltham restaurant has stepped in to help struggling families after Tory MPs voted against extending free school meals during holidays.

Starting on Monday Giorgio’s Mediterranean Restaurant and Bar in the High Street will be providing free school lunches to local children.

The family run-business said: “Collection between 12-2pm, please send us a message on FB or email info@giorgiosbar.com 24hrs beforehand so we can prepare.

“Lunch will be ham and cucumber or cheese & tomato sandwiches, plus an item of fruit and a packet of crisps.

“Please share to update those in the local community.”

As we reported yesterday, Tory MPs including the Meon Valley’s Flick Drummond voted against supporting families who already receive free school meals during term time during school holidays.
