Roads Around Wickham Re-Opened By Police

Roads around Wickham have been re-opened by police.

There had been traffic chaos earlier today due to concerns that an unofficial Horse Fair would take place in Wickham Square.

Around a dozen horse boxes and around 150 supporters have gathered one small area in the Square, most of the area is now clear and accessible.

Many people had complained on social media about the inconvenience caused by road closures which delayed journeys.

There are currently around 50 police officers in the Wickham Square area, but road closures were lifted around 9.45am.

As our pictures show, the attendees of the small unofficial horse fair event are largely in one area near Green’s pub.
