School asks for help to fund equipment for lessons

A Meon Valley school is asking the local community to help fund equipment for lessons.

Droxford Junior School has created a wishlist on Amazon and hopes people will purchase the extra equipment they need.

The items range in price from a £5 book to a £35 weighted lap pad – and even includes pens for marking and plasters for the first aid kit.

Headteacher Matthew Dampier, inset, said: “Budgets within schools have been severely cut over the last few years so to help alleviate some of the pressures on the budget we have created an Amazon wishlist.

“We have worked with the teachers and asked them ‘What else do you need?’ beyond what we can afford from our budget and are asking anyone who is in a position to help us to do so.”
