Teenager On Drink-Driving Charge After Range Rover Hit Wall And Overturned In West Meon

A teenager from Soberton has been charged with drink-driving after a Range Rover collided with a wall and overturned in West Meon.

Tom Joseph Charles Elliott, 19, of West Street, Soberton, has been bailed to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates’ Court on January 11th.

The collision occurred at around midnight on Tuesday 19th into Wednesday 20th December. It was reported a car had overturned in High Street, West Meon, near The Thomas Lord pub.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service and South South Central Ambulance Service paramedics also attended the scene.

A spokesperson for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service: “On-call crews from Droxford and Bishop’s Waltham fire stations were called out shortly after midnight on Wednesday 20th December following a road traffic collision on the High Street in West Meon.

“The vehicle involved had rolled over onto its roof but fortunately no one was trapped inside. One casualty was treated by South Central Ambulance Service paramedics as HIWFRS made the scene safe. Firefighters left the scene at around 1am.”
