Thieves And Vandals Hit Scarecrow Festival

A village’s scarecrow festival has been marred by the theft of one creation and the beheading of others.

People in Droxford have been shocked that their fun festival has been targeted in this way.

One scarecrow, a punk rocker called Sheena Ramone, part of a rock band called The Flax Pistols, was taken at around 7.30pm on Sunday.

Since then others including one inspired by the Jim Carrey film The Mask has been beheaded.

One local said: “So much effort goes into making the scarecrows it is really mean that some nasty people find the need to do things like this. ”
