Thieves stole an entire delivery of bread overnight from a village store.

A white van – registration NU12 BSY – stopped at Meonstoke Post Office and Village Stores in Warnford Road just after 3am this morning.

Thieves wearing balaclavas then stole crates containing dozens of loaves of bread along with croissants, pastries and hot cross buns.

The van then continued southbound on the A32 at least until the roundabout intersection with the B3035 road to Bishop’s Waltham.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: “We received reports just after 9am this morning that a theft had taken place at Meonstoke Village Stores at around 3.20am.

“We will be conducting a number of enquiries into this incident, including reviewing CCTV from the store.”
