Three Arrested After Elderly Woman Injured In Hit And Run In Waltham Chase
An elderly woman was injured in a hit and run in Waltham Chase last night.
Three men in another vehicle then fled the scene but were later arrested by police.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said: “Police were called to an incident in Waltham Chase at around 2300hrs last night.
“It had been reported that three males in a vehicle had collided with a 78 year old driver, and had then made off from the scene. The 78 year old sustained chest injuries from the collision.
“An off-duty Police Inspector detained and arrested two of the males at the scene.
“Police resources were dispatched and Police Dog Watson searched the nearby wooded area. A thermal imaging camera was also utilised.
“The third suspect was located nearby and arrested.
“Three males, aged 24, 27 and 27 are in Police custody and have been arrested on suspicion of failing to stop after a road traffic collision and driving a motor vehicle whilst over the prescribed limit for alcohol.
“Thank you very much to the people of Waltham Chase that assisted us during this matter – it was greatly appreciated.”
