Woman Dies In Accident On A32 Near Droxford
Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman died in a car accident on the A32 yesterday evening.
Officers were called just before 8pm to reports of a collision involving a grey BMW and a silver Volkswagen Golf on the A32 near Droxford.
The passenger of the BMW, a 20-year-old woman from Hook, was taken to Southampton General Hospital but was sadly pronounced dead later that evening. Her family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
A large emergency service response was sent to the scene including firefighters from Droxford, Wickham and Cosham attended the scene, three ambulances, two paramedic team leaders in rapid response vehicles, a consultant pre-hospital care practitioner in a rapid response vehicle, a Hazardous Area Response Team and the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance critical care car.
A spokesperson for South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust said: “One of those involved, a 20-year-old woman, had sustained critical injuries and was taken to University Hospital Southampton (UHS) but Hampshire Police have confirmed this morning that she was sadly pronounced dead at hospital.
“Two further patients – a male and a female – had sustained serious injuries and following initial treatment at the scene were also taken to the major trauma centre at UHS.”
A police spokesperson said: “Enquiries are being conducted into the exact cause of the collision, and we are keen to speak to anyone with information.
